At their November 27 meeting, members of 100 Women Who Care voted to give their quarterly donation of approximately $6500 to the Community Cooking Club sponsored by Palgrave United Community Kitchen (PUCK). The Cooking Club meets monthly to prepare a healthy plant-based meal. After enjoying their efforts together, the members package the bulk of their cooking into individual freezer containers for donation to the Exchange food bank. They typically donate 50 to 60 servings each month. This donation will allow the club to run through 2026, ensuring the delivery of at least 500 servings to the Exchange!
The Community Cooking Club members are a roster of about 20 friendly volunteers who cycle through the cooking days about eight at a time. They are led by two ecoCaledon members, Carolyn Vallejo and Lucrezia Chiappetta. If you are interested in participating in the club, please email [email protected] and your contact information will be forwarded to the organizers. Any level of experience is welcome!
