To create an opportunity in Palgrave to fill a gap for programming.
Palgrave United Church has transitioned from a traditional place of worship to include a dynamic community hub, ensuring its role in Palgrave remains as meaningful as ever. Palgrave United Community Kitchen (PUCK), the community outreach arm of the church, has reimagined this historic space to serve residents in new and impactful ways. With a fully equipped commercial kitchen and three versatile event spaces, PUCK offers a welcoming venue for community groups, entrepreneurs, and families to gather, create, and celebrate.
Dedicated to preserving its legacy while meeting the evolving needs of the town, PUCK provides a space for events, workshops, social gatherings, and local initiatives. By transforming the church into a thriving hub, PUCK continues to foster connection, collaboration and shared experiences for future generations.

Resilience
In 2012, The Town of Caledon first recognized the Palgrave United Church as an environmental leader and PUCK in 2020 as the Town’s Climate Change Champion.
The church pioneered using green energy and investing in green infrastructure. To-date, the church has provided 99.9MWh of solar energy back into the community, and created accessible community herb gardens and pollinator gardens to support the Suzuki ButterflyWay project promoted by the Town of Caledon.
A model of environmental leadership in the Town, PUCK is a current member of the Town of Caledon Climate Change collaboration.
The Ripple Effect
These three pillars of a community hub, building social capacity and resiliency have had a significant cumulative impact on the Caledon community. In a report commissioned by PUCK, it was determined that in 2022, there was $8.16 worth of social benefit for every dollar spent through programming, leading to a community social benefit impact worth $345,000.
What’s next for PUCK
To provide a community hub that has demonstrated leadership for 15 years by offering accessible community spaces at an affordable rate for events, celebrations, camps, meetings, health and wellness workshops, crafting workshops, etc.
